see how things are going there.
I'm on the east side, not as far east as Batavia though. Clermont county got hit pretty hard in general, but last I heard Batavia had power.

That's crazy Sixto - I can't believe you guys had more damage in your neck of the Woods than we did here in Dallas. Glad you and yours are okay!!

Sorry to hear you got damage Sixto. That stinks.

I guess you will never move to the Gulf Coast will you? I know we are glad to be out of there. As bad as it gets everywhere else when these things make landfall, you for sure do not want to be right there, on the coast where it comes ashore! We have been there for that a grand total of 7 times do varying degrees of severity and that is more than enough for me. I never want to do it again.

Glad everyone is OK. Damage can be repaired, power can be restored. I'm sure it was a wild shift you worked though.

Yup, I worked 1400 to 0001, it was non stop all night. Then the derelicts starting fighting with each other (no TV to keep them busy)...it was wild.

The eye passed directly over my place in East Texas, winds were down to 50mph or so. We lost power for about 12.5 hours, no damage other than some limbs and leaves.

Six.. i am sorry for your damages and trials with the storm , however i have to as a redneck mention that this is not an excuse ( from urging ) or reason ( from " common " sense) to spend your gun/ammo budget on the home . The home should pay for its self , and there is this thing called " equity " whereby some fools will loan you money for buying the place ( and for storm damage at low interest too lol ) . The only household " repair " that should come out of the " gun fund " right now is that nifty 5k watt generator that you need to run the hunting camp anyway . Food for thought bud , take it as it is LOL .
Make sure you get full value out of today , Do something worthwhile, because what you do today will cost you one day off the rest of your life .

My damage was very minimal. I got up on the roof this morning and replaced two ridge caps and my siding is all but 100% repaired already... I just ran out of galv. roofing nails. I have to get more in the a.m. Some minor repairs are needed for my fence too, nothing really even worth mentioning.

So once its all said and done, I got away with two ridge caps, two boxes of nails and a tube of caulk. Excluding my labor, (about 5hrs) it cost me less than $100.00.
I got very lucky compared to my neighbors.

    My house got pulverized

I got hit good yesterday. I had a Ash tree fall on the house and hot tub, lost some shingles on the roof, and bent my flagpole in half.

They say there was 75mph wind gust but I think we had gust well over that at times at my place because it bent that flagpole (minus a flag) like it was nothing.

Sixto, glad to hear you are OK. You guys got hit by the equivalent of a Category 1 Hurricane winds and that is amazing for that area.
You have to make the shot when fire is smoking, people are screaming, dogs are barking, kids are crying and sirens are coming.

Yup, it hasnt happened for a 100 years and probably wont again for at least that long. It was something to see.

We still dont have power for 75% of the area, with reports of looting etc in the high concentration of "zombie" areas.

JusticeDun, what part of Ohio are you in?
