Going to Theater in the city
This is a discussion on Going to Theater in the city within the Off Topic & Humor Discussion forums, part of the The Back Porch category; This probably should be posted in Concealed carry issues and discussions but that seems to be used for other stuff.

Going to Theater in the city
This probably should be posted in Concealed carry issues and discussions but that seems to be used for other stuff.
Anyways, I always try to do the right thing so as not to jeopardize my CHLicense. Tonight we're heading out to a show in the city and, while the city is relatively safe, it is small and stuff happens. We're only a few blocks from where the homeless "live" and naturally I want to protect my wife and daughter.
Like a fool, I called the theater to ask about their policy concerning concealed handgun licensees. (I didn't want to have to turn back and put my weapon in my car and have it stolen.) The woman on the other end of the phone was telling me "this is the theater, we don't have anything to do with handgun licensing ... are you sure you have the right number?" When I finally go her to listen to what I was asking, she said "of course they don't want guns in the theater." I asked if they have signs saying as much and her response was "well, I guess I'll tell them (the theater) they need them (signs)."
Arrgh!!!

umm....Why'd you call? If it's concealed, that means CONCEALED. If theaters are legal, then go with it, if not...well that is your choice then. If it's posted, put it in the trunk. Or get yourself a lockbox.

Know your state laws on such matters...don't call the PD, the theater, or your mother...all of their opinions DO NOT MATTER...
Calling the theater, bad idea...now they may put up a sign...not sure about AR, but in FL they can have a sign 5' tall, it means nothing.
Stay armed...concealed is concealed...stay safe!
"That I cannot do."

If it's not posted ... carry and don't worry about it.

Don't worry about policy. Worry about the law!

Does AR take your license in cases where you've entered a posted place, or merely arrest you for misdemeanor trespass if you refuse to leave when requested by a representative of the business?
If merely the latter and you can find legal precedent showing that's the result, then you should honestly be able to look at the issue simply and without bias: what is your family's safety worth to you/them?

Um, I thought I wrote that I didn't want to get there and find out I had to lock in in the car. Concealed means concealed, and a sign in ever entrance that says carrying of firearms is prohibited is the law. If I have to be paranoid and can't make a phone call then this society is in trouble. Um, and that's what your state law is for. Note: not everyone from everywhere is familiar with your own state's laws, in regard to the legality of a sign at a business.

No, but taking such posts in such a manner will make it tough to be happy, here, I'll grant you that. Nobody deliberately curdled your milk for you, so far as I can tell. If you wanted to merely post a grousing and not have discussion, perhaps that should have been made clear. Hm. I guess it's clear now.

In view of the OP's obvious dissatisfaction with the advice (good, I might add) he was given, this thread is closed.
When you’re wounded and left on Afghanistan’s plains,
And the women come out to cut up what remains,
Just roll to your rifle and blow out your brains,
And go to your God like a soldier.
