Last winter I had a chance to hunt in Jan. I had deer on the property every day until the week rifle season opened. I hunted all week and did not see one deer. The day the rifle season ended and archery only opened, I saw 6 deer at 75 yards.
I swear they know the seasons. I finally did get one with the bow after another week of trying.

OK, a day after the permit expired. Not one, but two large deer at 45 yards from our front deck.
At least they had the decency to run when I opened the door, but they must have an internet connection to the Fish and Game database in addition to calendars...
