    Here is the condensed version:

I was in the US Navy and stationed on the USS Wisconsin, BB-64 as it was being re-activated in the shipyard in Pascagoula Mississippi in 1987. A buddy of mine had a girlfriend who had a Mother who liked to set people up. A real match maker type. I didn't know this at the time.

I was invited to dinner and when I got there I saw a car I had never seen before. Thought nothing of it, went inside and my future wife was sitting across the room from the front door. As soon as I saw her it was love at first sight. (I did not believe in love at first sight before this). I knew I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her the second I saw her.
I asked her to marry me 30 minutes after walking through the door. I didn't even know her last name yet.
She said yes immediately. Turns out, it was love at first sight for her too.

Our 19th year anniversary was Aug. 19th, and we have 5 children. We are the happiest couple I know of and every day is still like the first day after we were married.

I was working a parttime job as a substitute teacher for EMS classes. Angie was one of the students. A couple weeks after my first class, one of the other students asked me to meet her and some friends (including Angie) for a tutoring session. This was all a setup, since Angie had apparently told them that she wanted to meet me out of school.

After she (and her buddies) dropped a few hints, I asked her out. When she found out how old I was (31), and told me how old she was (19), she thought the whole thing was over. Not.

I found out later that Angie had gotten out of class that first night and immediately told her Mom that she had met her future husband. My fate had been decided...

Met her at the Candy Machine at work. Her Peanut M&Ms where stuck. In order to save the candy I bought the candy behind it which was a pack of Raisinets . I saw they where stuck and she was distraught therefore I walked up to the machine and said don't worry I was hoping somebody would buy those so I could get the bag of Raisinets.

    I hate RAISINETS!!!!!!!

My now wife nailed a 42 year old confirmed bachelor!

That should tell you something about her right away.
She was temporarily assigned to work in my town and bought a vehicle at my dealership. She was transferred back and couldn't take the car with her as it didn't meet US specs. She sold the car back to us and took a big bath on it, nothing I could do about it. She was leaving in tears when I intervened. I couldn't help her on the price of the car, but managed to get most of her tax money back.
I received a thankyou card from her, from Seattle, which I tossed in a drawer without much thought. A month later I got another card from Oklahoma thanking me again and saying she'd sent a first card which I obviously hadn't received.
I wrote back and we started corresponding. She told me about the losers she was dating, and I told her about the losers I was dating. Somewhere along the line one of us suggested maybe we should get together. Next thing I know she's on a flight up here for a week. Two weeks and many phone calls and emails later, I'm on a plane for Oklahoma. My last night there I proposed and she was stupid enough to say yes. About a month after that, she's moved in and we're hitched. That was seven years ago. She's now a Canadian Citizen and can't wait to vote in her first federal election next month.
Anybody still reading this or did you get bored and move on to the next story?

I had just gotten stationed at Chanute AFB in Ill. from RAF Chicksands in England. She had only been there going to tech. school for 1 month. While in England I kind of lived different then the way I grew up. Hitting pubs, drinking and smoking dope. At the time all the guys I worked with had Top Secret Codework clearances (including me). 70% of them got high every day. We worked 4 swings, 4 mids, 4 days and got 3 days off for our effort. When I got back to the states I decide that since I was not raised like that, that I would get back to basics and start going to church again. The first Sunday I met her in Sunday School and bumped into her again at the base post office a few days latter. I asked her out not realizing that I didn't have enough to go out after moving off base and buying all the stuff it takes to cook for yourself, buy bedding, towels and stuff. That day in the mail I got $15 from my father. He had never done that before or since then. 3 months to the day after we met we got married. That was 30 years ago and we have 2 kids. The first is a girl and she is 22 years old and we've got a 7 year old son. Both healthy and smart. I consider myself blessed. When we got married she already owned 6 guns and had shot more deer then I had.

My bride-to-be remembered my smile as I walked past her department's office.
She said I looked really good in that uniform but the smile is what caught her eye.
    We met later in ER.
A year later we were an item.
A year after that we were married.

I met my wife on the internet, before it was cool. My co-workers thought I was nuts. But, I was sick of the bar scene and at work I only met married women. We will be married 7 years this Nov. and dated for a couple of years before that. Best move I ever made, I am one lucky son of a gun.

My wife of 40 years bowled with my sisters. At first we hated each other, how things work out.
