You want to know the truth, or should I beat around the bush? We're soul mates. She's the best shooting partner I've ever had, she's good at picking up brass at the range, she's a wonderful cook, she's confident, we have the same goals, she gets up at 3am on my work days to pack my lunch, we've been through some good times and some hard times, we seldom have arguments of any sort, and she's the best person I've ever known. We met at a restaurant for breakfast and took a day long scenic drive through the Ozark National Forrest, and talked a lot and had fun. All of this was after about a month of instant messaging and talking by phone. Our connection? Online personals. SinglesNet to be exact. Think whatever you want, but I don't think I'll be going through any 'mid-life' crisis, and I definitely won't need to see a doctor or try Viagra. ;) It took another six weeks before we met again, and then we started sharing life.

Mike what was for dinner. Some of us Guys need help.
Fried chicken, mashed potatoes, butter milk biscuits and green beans as I recall. All home made and all very good.

Ram Rod, sounds like you found a keeper just like I did. My wife and I are also soul mates. We are best friends and honestly, we can at times hear each others thoughts. I know it sounds weird but it is true. I wouldn't believe it if it wasn't me that it happens to. I can actually hear her say something, quote it to her word for word and she will tell me she did not say it out loud but thought it. Others in the room will verify that she said nothing. The reverse has happened many times as well. We are on the same wave length to say the least.

Probably so. It was featured in an episode of Mega Movers on the History Channel.

Met my lovely wife when we were 13 years old, saw her walking down the street with another girl I knew and told her I was gonna marry her. That was in 75, through life's unexpectecd happenings we didn't get married until 83, celabrating 23 wonderful year this Nov. Can't think about life without her.

Got a question for all you guys that claim "soul mates". Do you finish each others sentences? Can you be thinking about something and she come to you with the same thought? Do you do it to her also? I'm just asking since my wife and I scare people sometimes with the "connection" we have. "Soulmate" Heck yea. She is my guide through this life as well.

I was sitting in the Atlanta airport having a beer, waiting on my flight. I saw this beautiful woman walk by and I could not help but stare at her. She looked at me, smiled and kept on walking. A minute or two later she came over to my table, set her business card down and walked away. I was on my stupid cell phone and never even told her my name. I tried to find her, but couldn't. I sent her an email the next day and things progressed from there.

When she got home from her trip, she told her mom that she had 'met' the man she was going to marry!

We celebrated our 5th aniversary last month.

    TRUE STORY, I swear.

We met at a bar. I had a rule that the night wasn't over until you got turned down, so I asked her to dance (she was playing a trivia game with her friend). She figured one dance wouldn't hurt. We will be married 20 years this November. And we always say "you never meet anyone nice in a bar"

Drank too much one Fri night while out w/friends when we came down from Canada and shouldn't/couldn't drive home. (Both from border towns) I knew her thru those friends, but we actually didn't get along all that much.

She offered to drive me back to her place then gave me her couch to sleep it off.

Been married now 12 yrs w/2 boys.

On another note - no hijack intended: I was just sworn in as an American Citizen on Fri. It was a lengthy process (7months), not to mention a little nerve wracking, but it was well worth it.
Going this morning to get my passport info sent in.

I luv my wife & kids, and America

Internet dating. Hey it IS the 21st century. Besides there are some 6 million people in the Dallas area and it is still hard to meet the right person. We have been married a month now. It was the best decision of my life.

I was walking in the mall one day and she saw me. One of the girls she was shopping with knew me, so she called and left her pager number on my parents answering machine. Parents called me and gave me the number, I called back and we talked on the phone a couple of times. We seemed to get along pretty good and she seemed nice so we decided to meet. I drove to her job and we pretty much spent all of our free time together until the day we got married. Almost ten years later and we are still together with three kids.

Non-hijack aside: Congrats, Cupsz, on becoming a Yank. For all it's faults, it's still a wonderful country! And now you can complain about it, too; it's the American thing to do (eh?).

DH and I met on the phone, not a bar brawl, and we talked for an hour. A week later he called back and asked me out. I said I was busy for the next 5 weeks (student teaching) but after that was a possibility (I was sooo tired of jerky guys, and figured a jerk wouldn't want to wait). He said OK and called me back5 weeks later and took me on a picnic (he packed it - really yummy!). Good food, lots of laughs, and that panama hat - I was hooked.

It's been over 20 years, and he brings me a cup of tea when I'm on the computer and rubs my back when we sit on the couch. We are best friends, and I am so blessed (he's a great dad, too).
