Would you trade your wife for a shotgun?
I was talking with my wife at lunch and she mentioned a story her dad used to tell. So, I called to get the details.
He pastored a little church in Welaka, FL on the St. John's River in the mid-1950s.
He said this one gal came every Sunday. She wasn't real bright, but she was 'frisky.' She had married one of the H----- brothers, who lived in the same house, but different rooms. My father-in-law said the H----- brothers did not have a 'real high mentality.'
Well, one day, the married brother really wanted to go hunting. Since he didn't have a shotgun, and nothing of value to trade for one, he traded his wife for a shotgun his brother had. Oh, and a hunting dog. That night, she moved in with the brother.
He swears this is a true story.
I asked my wife, "What kind of shotgun was it?"
(Then came The Look.)
So, would you? Inquiring minds want to know.
