Wink Denny Crane Carries One In The Chamber

I posted previously regarding my carrying one in the chamber and the advice was overwhelming that I should do it. The advice was varying and it all made sense. However, if anybody saw Boston Legal last night, it became obvious why you should have one in the chamber. As Denny was being stuck up at gun point, he pulled out one of his pistols and shot the perp in the knees and ended the robbery. I know, I know, some of you are going to say he should have aimed for center mass, etc. It was a TV show.

He was going for center mass, he's just a very bad shot!!
What they didn't show in the program, was he felt so bad about shooting the BG, he paid all medical bills, hired the guys defense lawyer and set up a $500,000.00 a year trust fund so the guy wouldn't have to go out and rob people anymore.

I wouldn't be surprise that is the way Hollywood would expect this to be scripted. I wonder if Oprah would do it that way.

    BG's got a 1911; i'm not sure about Denny's, it might be a glock.

I tried pausing it in several places and can't get a good read on Denny's gun. However, I did like that he had his finger off the bang switch. I wonder if he is a shooter. How many times do we see movie stars with their fingers in the trigger guard?

I loved the scene where the police disarmed Denny to arrest him- they pulled something like 9 guns off of him. It's unfortunate that the real fantasy was Denny getting acquitted. But I've always loved Shatner, and he really plays this roll well.

My favorite part is at the end when he says; "America. Sweet land of Liberty Valence!"

Obscure excellent but forgotten movie reference FTW.

Are you sure you didnt hear the fake "cocking"/racking of the slide, as he pulled in :)
