The gun grabbers lose again.
We just had a Federal election, The Conservatives won a stronger minority government, although they were hoping to win a majority, looks like they will be 10 seats short. The other 4 parties, Liberals, NDP, Bloc and the Greens, all intended to ban handguns and most semi-auto rifles. The conservatives have vowed to dismantle the long gun registry, which they will hopefully be able to do this time around. They are not “pro-gun” as much as they are anti-waste and anti-silly law. The gun registry was promised to cost only a 100 million, but ballooned to 2 billion without any clear benefit, unless of course you intend to confiscate the guns later. A lot of gun-nuts put their shoulder to the wheel and helped get candidates elected. We still have big battles ahead of us, next is to talk to the other parties and explain the consequences of annoying 4 million Canadian gun owners in a population of 33 million. Still lot’s of dust to settle, but I am off to California tomorrow morning, which is about the only place in North America with nuttier laws than ours!
The lesson is clear, gun owners can make a differance in the political arena. You want to make taking on gun owmers as enjoyable as nude wrestling with a porcupine!!!

Congratulations. I only hope that we follow suit next month. One candidate, Barack Obama, has a commercial saying that we'll keep our guns, but he's against handguns for self defense at home, wants to limit us to single shot long guns, and wants a 500% tax on guns and ammo, to name just a few of his plans. So, we may have to support the NRA in law suits should he get elected.

I have to agree. If the dems win, more of my money will be going to the NRA

Better to give SOME now, rather than a LOT later...
"That I cannot do."
"Give this to, uh, Clemenza. I want reliable people, people who aren't going to be carried away. After all we're not murderers in spite of what this undertaker thinks."
