My M1A is named Gungnir (swaying one). My Mossburg 590 is named Mjölner (crusher). My two Sig P229s are named Freke and Gere (ravenous and greedy). I went with this theme as a node to my Saxon and German background. I named my rifle after Odin's spear because Rogers means good with a spear.

My buddy names his .45 "HOMER" - It's big, it's ugly, it's stupid and it's from Springfield!

All of my sidearms have had names for that very purpose. If the wife ever had a question, felt uneasy, or just didn't know for sure 'he' was with me.....she use the name in referance to 'my lil' friend' if within earshot of anyone in public.

I have a pair of G23's.....Pancho and Lefty

There's also Juan, Pedro, and Remy the shotgun(I know, not very original).

I name my shotguns all sorts of names when I miss that flushing bird or the clay bird that I've hit thousands of times before.

Then I forget what I named it, and rename it later when the gun misses again.

The Kimber UC II is noisy cricket (it is aprently the loudest gun at the local IDPA matches I attend).

The Kimber II is Bertha (as in Big Bertha - my wife's name for it)

The AR-15 is Lucky (as in lucky I didn't get shot for buying it)

The Centenial Winchester level action 30-30 is killer (as in killer recoil that left bruises on my soulder the first time I took it to the range - gotta love those brass butt plates with the sharp edges).

I've taken to calling my .45 "The Samaritan". As in: "I'm not a very good shot, but the Samaritan here fires really big bullets".

Haven't come up with names for any of the others yet.

My Ruger LCP is named "Miss Elsie Pea". My wife sometimes asks me, "Is Elsie with you?". That's our code to let her know that I am carrying.

haha, no I didn't realize that it did, until you mentioned it. "selgguns" - hmmm I promise you that I had no intentions of trying to subliminally get everyone to sell their guns (for very cheap, to me)

Well, I SHOULD know a couple of their names since I have slept with them.

My apologies if that was an inappropriate comment.
    It's true, but perhaps inappropriate.
