QK - another man of many parts.

Always wished I was more artistic - enjoy drawing etc but am a ''geometrical'' artist - architecture etc is more my thing if I try. Comes of being an engineer I guess!

Working with hands - indeed me too and something I didn't mention - tho tend to do so much less of that because of my back - standing and even sl bending is bad news.

Still do some lathe work at times .. bit of wood but metal mostly - that tho depends on whether shop is fridge or hothouse!! Just took a pic to use elsewhere, of some of the many lathe accessories I have made over time - with some inclusion of usefulness for gun type work at times too.

Rear left a #2 morse center block with depth stop - mostly for tailstock use but will do for low speed work in spindle too. Takes up to about 1 1/4" dia stock.
To right of that another center block, with a set of small hardened guides for mostly small drill sizes, in drill press. Depth stop on that too. Made guides somewhat as they were needed.
In front - a simple knurling tool made long ago - works very well and of course goes in toolpost.

firearms/shooting is the focus of most of my free time, but the study of history is just as much or more important to me.

Thumbs up Thanks For The Photo Chris

    I do appreciate seeing those.

There is a guy on the web that RENTS this custom fixture (that he designed) that allows 80% complete stamped sheet metal AK47 receivers to be exactly bent right on those two critical fold lines.
You should put your "jig & fixture" making skills into designing one of those.
I'll bet that yours would work better than his too!
Doggone...I wish I could find that Web Page.
I thought I had it bookmarked in my 'puter but, I've not been able to locate it yet.

If my shop was temp controlled QK - I just could try that sorta thing. Sadly it is not as good as my old UK shop - and as said - much of time - too hot or too cold!!

My most active phase making stuff like those in pic was probably back in late 80's - it almost became a hobby. Not so sure I'll ever do that much again - lots of other odd things tucked away that were specially made - always satisfying to make something which essentially extends the use/versatility of a machine.

    Let's see...

    -Martial-arts and integrated-combatives (empty-hand, knife, handgun)
-Weapons: guns (and shooting obviously), knives, etc.
-Reading: mostly military history and related fiction (WEB Griffin, Robert Ludlum, Stephen Hunter, etc.)
    -Internet forums
    -Movies&TV (action, martial-arts, drama)
-Outdoor stuff: Hunting, Hiking, Camping, and Rock-climbing (haven't fallen on my head yet so I guess I'm doing okay).

Since I spend so much time on the Forum, I have to say computers are up near the top. I have put together a couple from purchased components. Next in no paricular order:
    riding my motorcycle
    guns and shooting
watching any western on the tube (I'll never get tired of them)
    guns and shooting
buying stuff from internet stores, mostly shooting stuff
Did I mention guns and shooting?

Family time is my main interest, I love my family to death. But I wouldn't enjoy it as much thinking I wasn't as prepared as I could be to deal with undesirables or a bad situation. Side note-Another reason I don't drink more than one or two beers at a sitting.

Shooting, in the sense of just shooting a gun, is not my #1 interest. Besides the previously mentioned family, I like to spend time thinking, training and learning overall combatives (knife, gun, empty hand, improvised weapons, tactics, non-permissive environments etc...)

Yeah, shooting a gun or a type of gun I haven't shot before is cool, but I'd rather be spending that time practicing my draw, shooting on the move, engaging multiple targets and deceptive tactics.

And no, I don't do IDPA or IPSC....I work too much for that.

Well - shooting and motorcycle riding are my prime interest/hobby. My wife also, but the kids goes back and forth. The granddaughter loves it all. I will allways have a "range buddy" and a reloader helper.
