All around was the bark and music of gunfire - better than 1st day of Buck
Hope y'all had a good evening whatever you did - and may we enjoy a peaceful and safe 2006.

Being in (unfortunatly) a surburban area I was awoken at midnight by what I'd like to think were firecrackers. But I fear some not-so-smart neighbors may have been firing weapons, hopefully (and sadly) into the air. (since there are no fields or empty areas that near.)

Unfortunately we had some firecrackers and gunfire this year. Even more unfortunate was that some of our guests were outside getting things from their car when I heard it. I got to rush outside, flashlight in hand, 1911 exposed to make sure they were okay and to bring them back in. Luckily everything turned out okay.

A Healthy, Happy New Year to all...
The bride and I spent a quiet New Year's Eve with longtime friends. He's a member of the local VFD and we monitored the radio (in the background) and got to catch up with each other. The ladies got up New Year's morning and fixed buttermilk pancakes from scratch with pan sausage. All in all, not a bad way to start the New Year...
