    Well - HNY folks - it's 2006

At least here on EST it is!!

Just fired off my usual bunch of rounds - into the corn field dirt I might add!! Good way to burn up some crap Russian .223!

All around was the bark and music of gunfire - better than 1st day of Buck

Hope y'all had a good evening whatever you did - and may we enjoy a peaceful and safe 2006.

It didnt start out to peacful.

My wife is down in her back...so we didnt go to the usual New Years Eve party.

I got called out by the S.O. as they only had 2 officers on midshift. From about 10 till 2:30 was non stop domestic disputes all over the county. Brother vs brother, cousin vs cousin, daughter vs. mother, friend vs. best friends wife, father vs. son and party goes vs other party goer. Of course ALCOHOL was involved in the disputes...that always make thing easier... That and several fireworks complaints which normaly would be OK exept that we have a burn ban due to not having any rain for a couple months.

I have feeling that 2006 will be an interesting year.

    anyhow....

    HAPPY NEWYEAR !

Being in (unfortunatly) a surburban area I was awoken at midnight by what I'd like to think were firecrackers. But I fear some not-so-smart neighbors may have been firing weapons, hopefully (and sadly) into the air. (since there are no fields or empty areas that near.)

It was a quiet evening for us. My wife and I chose to relax after spending the day with friends. Dinner and Cabela's made for a very nice New Years celebration.

    Happy New Year to all!!!

Unfortunately we had some firecrackers and gunfire this year. Even more unfortunate was that some of our guests were outside getting things from their car when I heard it. I got to rush outside, flashlight in hand, 1911 exposed to make sure they were okay and to bring them back in. Luckily everything turned out okay.

A Healthy, Happy New Year to all...

The bride and I spent a quiet New Year's Eve with longtime friends. He's a member of the local VFD and we monitored the radio (in the background) and got to catch up with each other. The ladies got up New Year's morning and fixed buttermilk pancakes from scratch with pan sausage. All in all, not a bad way to start the New Year...
