I guess the LEO's car didn't have the brush guard on it? I still can't believe that that car made it up on his hood/windshield like that.

Oh man. It sounded like the guy was still hitting the accelerator too.

I'd want that guy to be my driver at the county fair demolition derby.

What was that noise at the end? Was he trying to start the car or what?

My first thought was maybe it was a true accident, he had it in reverse instead of drive but then I watched it again, he puts on his blinker and then sits there for what seems like long enough for the cop to get in the car, then he puts it in reverse and starts going back, then floors it.

I don't think that was an accident.

He should have just paid the speeding ticket, now he faces assault with a deadly weapon charges as well as felony assault on a police officer. Of course if there had an assault weapon ban as well as a 5 day waiting period on driver licenses this wouldn't have happened.

During the conversation it seems to me it is an old fellow in the suspect’s auto. I surmise he got confused and thought it was in drive and stepped on the accelerator and being a front wheel drive vehicle it raised the rear of his vehicle during acceleration and continued to push it up onto the LEOs car.

The sound is from the driver having his foot on the throttle past half way to wide open and the REV. limiter is shutting the engine off and on to keep it from over revving and damaging the engine. If you have a newer / fuel injected vehicle you can experience it yourself just step on the throttle while in park and the same noise will appear.

Funny you mention that. When I was 19 (30 yrs ago) I entered a demo derby and did exactly that. I was driving an old Dodge Monaco rear wheel drive and was spinning my back tires inside the other cars windshield. Eventually, I got hung up and couldnt get off the hood of the other car. It happened exactly like this video except no cops.

    I'm speechless...

Did he do that purposely? Or did he just not know how to drive?

I am guessing nervous, flustered and upset. Lots of people panic and when things start going to crud while driving, stomp the accelerator thinking it is the brake.

I had to snicker a bit too.
