Man fires flare gun at bar after his dog wasn't allowed in
DICKINSON, N.D. — Authorities say a man fired a flare gun at a Dickinson bar after his dog was not allowed to enter.
Police say 58-year-old Charles Howington of Dickinson faces a terrorizing charge.
Police Investigator Chris Coates says Howington pointed the flare gun at patrons and fired it at Army’s West Sports Bar after he was told he could not bring his dog into the bar.
Police arrested Howington at a nearby motel.
Coates says Howington has a lengthy criminal history, including kidnapping, burglary and crimes involving firearms.
