Alabama - meets Las Vegas
Alabama man in Las Vegas
After the tourist had been served in a Las Vegas cocktail
lounge, he beckoned the waitress back and said quietly, "Miss, y'all
sure are a luvly, luvly lady; can ah persuade y'all to give me a piece of a$$?"
"Lord, that's the most direct proposition I've ever had!" gasped the girl.
Then she looked around the room, smiled and added, "Sure, why not?
You're nice lookin' too and it's pretty slow here right now, so
why don't we just slip away up to my room?"
When the pair returned half an hour later, the man sat down at
the same table and the waitress asked, "Will there be anything else, sir?"
"Why yes," replied the southern gentleman. "Ah sure'preciate
what y'all just did for me; it was real sweet and right neighborly, but
where ah come from in Alabama, we lack our bourbon real cold, so ah still need
to trouble y'all for a piece uh a$$ for mah drink."

This seems like the time to ask... can anyone recommend a movie where a major character has a realistic southern accent? It does not need to be a good one, I'm prepared to suffer in the name of science.
I love that joke, didn't see the punchline coming, either. I just suppose it would be better if I had a better idea of what the tourist sounds like.
Thanks, y'all.

Haha - you are at a disadvantage I guess Ibex!
I know there are movies with Southern folks as characters but cannot right now think of a title. If the writing in this one is read pretty much as written, then in part at least the phonetics get sorta close to something like the Southern - at least, the ''characterized'' version

Yeah, but without ever (to my knowledge) having heard a southern accent, it sounds more like Chris Rock when I read it. According to his biography, his should be a New York accent. He was born in South Carolina, though, so I can't be sure.

look online for a comedian called Jeff Foxworthy.
He exagerates it a bit, but you will get the idea.
