Jon-E handwarmer . . . any hints on how to work this thing?

    Hey guys,

I'm hoping that there'll be some people here who've had one of these Jon-E handwarmers and have used them successfully. I bought a few about two weeks ago and thought that it'd be a snap. Maybe keep warm while hunting deer, etc.

Trouble is, I can't keep the thing lit properly. Seems like no matter what I do, the thing goes out. Seems like it's pretty fussy, which surprises me since it's been around so long.

    Any hints?

Well, that's no help at all. That's the very thing I'm trying to avoid!

Wait, are you talking about the little thing that fits in your pocket and you light the char sticks and close them up inside it? If that's them, I've had two of them for years and they always worked great. Matter of fact I just used them a couple of weeks ago on a hiking trip. They get so hot that I usually end up emptying them out and stamping out the sticks.

As posted, there are two types of Jon-e Handwarmers. One uses the liquid fuel and the other uses a solid fuel stick. Not sure which one you have. I didnt like the liquid fuel type because it smells and scared the deer away.

I still have 2 of the solid fuel stick types, they work so good I could cook a goose with 'em.

I never liked the idea of shoving burning materials in my pockets so near to my two best friends!
