That's it! I am never listening to a movie review again!
When the movie "Hancock" was in the theaters, I wanted to go see it because I have not yet seen a Will Smith movie that I didn't like and because I like super hero movies.
But, I read several reviews that really made the movie seem like a dog. So, we passed on it.
Well, it came out on DVD today and we rented it because, even if it wasn't good, it's just $5 right? We just got done watching it and I was a great movie. I mean it was a really, really great movie. My wife and I and all the kids loved it.
I hoped when we put it on that it would be better than I had read but it was so much better than I ever thought it would be I am still blown away by it. Heck, I hope they make a sequel and I am not a sequel kind of guy.
If you have not seen it, I say it is worth a look see.

Mike, I always check what the critics say. If they give it a horrible review I put it in my Netflix account inmediately to watch it ASAP. I have seen very few bad movies by doing it this way

Often times the movies with "bad reviews" are the movies that I like the most.

Good to know, just added it to the Netflix queue. I had wanted to see it, just never got around to it.

If the critics don't like it, I love it. I must have no taste...

I don't listen to any of the critics. My wife and I went to see Hancock this summer, and we both really liked it.

My general rule is to just ignore all the critics. The critics are idiots who only critique because they have no creative abilities of their own therefor they attack others.

The critics blasted the last Rambo as "jingoistic", but I thought it was pretty kickass. I got what I wanted.

How funny, the Wife and I were just talking about that yesterday.
I want to see it as well, didn't go to the theaters as with 4 kids it costs more to get someone to sit than the movie would cost.

If it is a movie that would appeal for the big screen, I go see it, if not really made for the big screen, I rent it.
If wife wants to see chick flick, I go with her to the movie theater, but I go see a movie I like but she would mostly hate.

Mike,
You should have asked me. I would have told you it was a great movie. I guess we all make mistakes.

Good, yes, but I wouldn't consider it great. I saw it a couple of months ago for free (I've posted this site before here- SurfTheChannel - Home where you can watch loads of movies for free, many while still in the theaters. It also had a huge number of television shows, from current to the 50's. It's a great site if you're bored with tim to kill.)
