Happy Thanksgiving to All of You:merged
Just wanted to wish all my friends on DC.com and especially Bumper and the staff a very Happy Thanksgiving.
===================================
Here is a turkey recipe, just in time for Thanksgiving, that also includes the use of popcorn as a stuffing - imagine that.
When I found this recipe, I thought it was perfect for people like me, who just are not sure how to tell when poultry is thoroughly cooked, but not dried out. (Only a suggestion, you might not want to be near the kitchen when completed).
BAKED STUFFED TURKEY
6-7 lb. Turkey
1 cup melted butter
1 cup stuffing (Pepperidge Farm is good.)
1 cup uncooked popcorn (ORVILLE REDENBACHER'S LOW FAT)
Salt/pepper to taste
______________________________
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Brush turkey well with melted butter,
salt, and pepper. Fill cavity with stuffing and popcorn.
Place in baking pan with the neck end toward the back of the oven.
Important: Listen for the popping sounds. When the turkey's butt blows the oven door open and the turkey flies across the room, it's done.

Right back to You and everyone here from CT. I fly out to Ireland on Thanksgiving night. I got to have the good food before I leave the Good Old US.

I'm eagerly waiting to hear back on how it came out! BTW, had a pre-Thanksgiving dinner at my range the other day and they served fresh pheasant. It was really delicious!

Happy Thanksgiving to all. It has always been my favorite holiday. I think my New England roots give me an interesting mental visual and emotional attachment to the Thanksgiving story. Hailing as I do from a county with 20,000 undeveloped acres of NE forest, I can vividly picture that small band hanging on to the Rocky New England Coast and surrounding forest.
Just cooked the sweet potato pie, and won't try the popcorn turkey; thanks to Hotguns for the Eagle Eyes.
