Decent of you Ram Rod - when will I be getting mine?

    Great tip, Ram Rod...

I have my two SureFire SD lights...the E2e (reg light), and the L-4 Luma Max (LED)...big difference. The L-4 is the LED (it does have more lumens) but the LED light is a different kind of bright.

A while back I was at Home Depot and spotted the LED bulbs for my two mag lights...a 3-cell and a 4-cell. The bulbs weren't cheap, about $20 bucks each. I wasn't sure about the purchase, but got them anyway. They made my home flashlights BRIGHT BEAMS...Wow! A big difference.
Seems like I could signal the airliners flying overhead (not that I would)...just bright enough to do so.(Yeah, it's a stretch.)

I picked up a 3x D cell LED Maglite this summer at Walmart. It was more expensive than a normal one, $10 or something, but wow! It is definitely worth it. Side by side, brightness is no comparison. Using the normal one now is like using a candle.

The next time I go to Walmart I plan on picking up one of the LED-based AA ones too.

All of my lights are LED or have an LED setting (i.e. hands-free lights)

I have a Surefire G2 LED...6PL (LED), and have LED pocket lights clipped on my IBA.

The lights may be slightly more expensive, but worth it IMO...as I won't have time to deal with a busted incandescent bulb in Afghanistan.

    LED all the way.

Sure would be handy to have before and after figures on the lumens actually produced.

I found this a few months ago. A 300 lumen maglight conversion.

    http://www.terraluxcorp.com/

I saw another somewhere which was if I remember correctly a 600 lumen upgrade but I had a computer crash and can't find it.

Wait until next year when technology advances itself once again! Maybe half that?
