    LED's emerging technology

I picked up an upgrade for one of my three MagLites today. LED lamp direct replacement. $9.98. I plan on converting the rest of my MagLites now. I tried it out tonight in the barn and about. My D-cell batteries will be lasting longer now and with a brighter, tighter beam. I love this stuff! Anyone else up on the LED lights and the wave of the future? Forgive my excitement.........the lamp I replaced in my heavily used MagLite today could quite possibly be older than some of you!

I didn't really care for the led's when they first came out. They were bright, but did not really project any light. The ones they are making now are just awesome. I will not but another light that is not an led.

Same here. Again...been hitting EBay, and a lot of these are going to be Christmas presents or stocking stuffers this year! LED lamps are so-so, but the newer chips are totally awesome. They don't call them lights now, they call them "torches"! That says enough.

I've thought about them. They have them at Walmart.

You are saying that they are worth it?

Wal Mart........where else? LOL! MagLite has a specific conversion for $19.98. It's the C3? or chip instead of the electrode lamp. 300% improvement in my book on the lamp alone.

Yes. I hope to convert my other two this weekend (after payday). One more 2 D cell, and one 3-D cell MagLite. I'll give the generic conversion
Brighter, and better focusing beam in the standard MagLite.

Oh, that combat zone? Well, I guess I'll saddle up and check it out on my next errand-run. Sounds great for my home and vehicle flashlights.

I love LED's. I have many LED flashlights and am constantly learning more and more about them. They are the future (I've been saying it for years). I have a LED in my Maglite as well. Definitely makes a big improvement, but it still does not compare to some of my smaller lights. There is a Malkoff drop-in for those babies and holy crap, you could just about light up the moon with it from what I hear.

I love LED light technology! I only have a couple of flashlights now that are not LED. My Surefire G2 is the only one that is really useful and I want to convert it to LED as I think I have seen you can do that now.

I will not buy another flashlight that uses anything other than LED.
