Yeah, well, I had one of those once. And what I learned is that all girls are totally insane from about that age until around 21. It's the hormones and stuff. So don't take anything that happens in the next five or six years personally. There will be changes, it's just a question of how sweeping and dramatic, and how sudden. No telling what direction things will go in.
Enjoy the time you've got right now. Treasure each day. They'll all be gone in a very short while and you'll wonder where the time went.

"He went on two legs, wore clothes and was a human being, but nevertheless he was in reality a wolf of the Steppes. He had learned a good deal . . . and was a fairly clever fellow. What he had not learned, however, was this: to find contentment in himself and his own life. The cause of this apparently was that at the bottom of his heart he knew all the time (or thought he knew) that he was in reality not a man, but a wolf of the Steppes."
Regardless of how much she may or may not change, she will remember the happy days with you. Cherish these days, and congratulate yourself for doing some things very right.
"I pledge allegiance to the war banner of the united states of Totalitaria. And to the Republic, which no longer stands, several bankers, who are now god, indivisible, with Bernanke bucks and credit for all."
You did a great job. Keep up the great work.
My twin daughters are 15 and will be deer hunting 03-04 January 2009 during the youth hunt weekend in MO. It's the first time they've done a youth hunt at the end of the season this year - usually it's at the front end of the season (and it was too this year 01-02 Nov 2008). So I know what you're talking about. One will be using a Ruger M77 Hawkeye in .243 Caliber and the other my brother-in-law will be providing (don't know the make or model) in .223. I can't wait.
