    Just to stir our thoughts

I have little doubt everyone knows this pic and has seen it - but it is for me one of the most evocative images - in the same genre as the Firefighters on 9/11 and the victors raising the flag at Iowjima. It speaks volumes for me.

I post it simply (and unashamedly) because it does IMO further focus our thoughts on the guys in the sand box - and we need to have them in our minds every day.

I think that's the most amazing image I've ever seen. I believe we got that for my fater-in-law. I'll have it one day too.

I was just at the wall about two months ago. Mix of emotions. Thankfulness, humility, pride, determination...

    No Shame...

I post it simply (and unashamedly) because it does IMO further focus our thoughts on the guys in the sand box - and we need to have them in our minds every day.
The folks in the sand box truly do need our support...that Budweiser commercial with the folks applauding as the troops come through the airport is another good example.

The one thing I miss about living in Maryland is the monuments in DC.

Those were taken one cold morning, when almost nobody was around. I really like the Korean War memorial shot - I always wanted to go back there and shoot it again with a light snowfall covering the statues' shoulders and helmets.

My brother just got back from 5 months in Kuwait. He is a Lt. Col. in the Air Force working with all branches and private companies to airlift supplies and forces to Iraq and Afghanistan and back again.

He is home now but while he was out, he sent out a weekly update that really made me proud. What he was the most proud of is that the work he was doing was making it possible for private companies to take over the air cargo business and more of our guys could come home.

God bless the troops and may they do a damn good job and get their butts home.

Everyone needs to go see it in person. I have been 4 times just to say "HI" to my "brothers" that didn't come home with me. ---------
