Murphy - and the weather!
I hate Murphy! Heck - last two days have been mild and real nice - even had bike out twice this week.
Buddy is running a shoot tomorrow - one of three or four each year - this one being the winter ''Frozen Nutz'' shoot. We meet on his land which is an ideal place to shoot - 75 acres or so - and a steel plate at 600 yards, as well as steels at closer distances.
And what you may ask is the weather problem? Well - rain (already starting) - and that given for all day tomorrow, with lowering temps and probably turning to snow - oh yeah - and
- WINDY!!!!
It ain't fair!!! It is one shoot where I get to throw lead at 600 yards with FAL, all sorts of rifles in fact and this will not help! Doubt the shooting will actually be too much fun - so it'll be more social and enjoying the camp fire deal - but still - Murphy sux!!!
Oh well - be gone most of afternoon anyways - hoping for some shooting somehow.

Well - the forecast was horribly correct!!!! Rain early on turning to snow and more so at the shoot because of high elevation and the wind - sheesh - blowing snow around and target viz at times was lousy.
I excercised the L1A1 a fair bit and some hand cannons, plus the SIG - but really we shot the breeze round the fire most of all!! Good bunch of guys, some from 4 hour's drive away. It is not known as the ''Frozen Nutz'' shoot for nothing LOL!

Chris,
We're so far behind in moisture here I'd even take snow right now...of course, down here snow and ice bring free entertainment. You know, watching these idiots try to drive in the crap. But we DO need the moisture...we're about 18-19 inches behind.
Looks like lotsa fun, though...the campfire thing and good company. Not a bad way to go...
Regards,
Fred
