    Empty Holsters and Cabala's

I never asked anyone since I was CC at the time. But I went to Cabala's today looking for a SD shotgun. I notice several people milling around the pistol counter with their holster empty.

I never saw a sign on the door, but does Cabela's frown upon CCing ?

From your post it seems they may be restricting Open carry. If it was concealed you wouldnt be able to see the empty holster.

True. But I've never seen a sign. Cabela's off Glendale, correct? I always carry when I'm in there (that is when I do go. Their prices are bit high for my taste).

Perhaps you saw people on break from a CCW class? Is there a range in the store?

The Cabela's in East Hartford has a sign welcoming CCW's.

I believe the sign I saw said something like "Concealed weapons by properly licensed individuals are welcome as long as they remain holstered". Maybe these guys didn't have a CCW.

I've been in a dozen or so Cabela's stores across the country and have never seen a sign at the doors. Just wanted to add.

The sign at the East Hartford store has words to the effect that any weapons brought into the store (for trade-in or whatever) must be unloaded and checked with a clerk. Small print at the bottom states that it doesn't apply to CCW.

I know that a friend of my wife's took her CCW class at a Cabellas. I also know that in classes I have attended they asked that we leave our ammo in our cars. maybe they have a policy of leaving the guns in the cars also if you are taking a class?
