2009 Playoffs - They did it!

Congratulations to the NFC Championship Arizona Cardinals!

They were the dark horse of the NFL 2008-2009 playoffs. I wanted them to win because I didn't like anyone else, and because I like seeing history in the making. I hoped they would but didn't think they'd beat Atlanta, where they came away with a 30-24 victory after shutting down the Falcon's running game. I hoped they would but didn't think they'd beat Carolina, who they destroyed 33-13 and dominated every facet of that game. Finally, I hoped and couldn't have dreamed they could beat Philadelphia, who they shut down in the first half and the final quarter for a 32-25 victory over the Eagles. I believe this is the first Superbowl in franchise history the Cardinals will play in.

Stunned. I'm happily stunned. Arizona fans should be damn proud of their team.

Another improbable year in the NFL. Although I'm an Arizona resident, I will never be a Cardinals 'fan'. Sure, I'll be happy for 'em if they can go all the way, mostly b/c it'll be quite the feat for an 'ancient' QB.

Just be glad you aren't a football fan in Detroit
They did sign a new QB, his last name is Owen and he'll be wearing the number 16.

It's going to be a Cardinals - Steelers Superbowl. I'm honestly glad, because I think the Steelers are the strongest team in the Playoffs and most deserving to be there, and the Cardinals are proving that they're ever bit the contender nobody gave them credit for being. Roethlisberger, play well, but I'll be rooting for the Cards this year.

Go Cards! I couldn't stand it if the Steelers won. I was rooting against both teams for the AFC hoping somehow they would both lose.

That said, that hit in the 4th was pretty scary.

Hope the Cards take it all! There've definitely been some unexpected winners in the playoffs (or, as the Dallas Cowboys refer to it -- vacation).
    Cheers,
