Anyone know if Jeff Dunhams' (comedian/ventriloquist) shows are family friendly?

(The guy with Achmed the dead terrorist and Jose, the jalapeno on a stick)

My son wants to go see his show next month for his 12th birthday, but we've only seen him on TV. Anyone know if his live performances are mild, or do they get pretty "grown up" in content??

We can tolerate some profanity, but there is a line on that and sex-type material.

From watching the entire Spark of Insanity DVD...it looks all pretty safe. I don't think he uses any profanity at all. Not really any adult content, but maybe some jokes that kids might not get once in a while.

He tries to walk the line most of the time. But usually trips over it somwhere and lands squarely in Grownupland. BTW, I love his comedy.

DVD's will usually be clean.... live shows not really. I catch him on XM comedy every so often and some of his stuff (recorded live) is definately not family friendly.

I would say not so much family friendly. I would watch a few of the recorded live performances on YouTube see if it fits your definition.

    Love his shows though!

Good idea, thanks. I know definitions are pretty variable from parent to parent.

I'd say he is somewhere between... well kinda more like...

Well, I have not heard him say the big ones (F) (GD), but he lets a few loose from time to time, or can we simply blame Walter and not Jeff?

I think I am over thinking my answer.

The sad part is he will probably not say anything your 12 year old hasn't heard at school, sad for the school not Jeff Dunham.

If you are concerned about foul laguage....not family friendly.

However, I do not remember any sexually explicit or racist (barring Achmed) comments. Perhaps I can convince my dearest t operform a Jeff Dunham marathon on DVD to be sure for you???

I'd bring my kids. I think he's one of the few cleaner comics out there. Sure he slips, but who doesn't??

not really family friendly. what they show on TV is only a fraction of what he does in person. granted, he's not lisa lampanelli, but i don't think it's appropriate for younger kids.

Gotta agree with the others here. I would take a 15 year old, but not 12. He made a few jokes with Walter relating to porn that you wouldn't want your son to hear. They were hilarious, but not kid appropriate.
