    Are you an informed American?

I found this quiz that .... well tale a look, see what you think, it is not strictly 2A related regardless I hope every one finds it interesting. For the record I scored 28 out of 33 correctly 84.85 %

So, here is the American Civic Literacy Quiz. I hope this is not a duplicat I searched several terms and could not find anything related to this subject.

    Cheers,

Great that you even took the quiz. As for your score if you compare it to the average of the original sample of Americans you did phenomenally well; I think the average of original sample scored under 50%

I hope you both found the excercise interesting.

I didn't do quite as well as I'd have liked (73%). I guess I need to review a history book or three.

Well it looks like my IQ is FAR higher than I thought
Thank you for your kind words... If it had been more general US knowledge,
I think I might have got a little better.

Well, if it will make anyone feel better, I got a measly 66.67% on it. 22 out of 33 correct. Should I worry about that?

I missed #30 and #33. In my defense, I answered #30 wrong for ideological reasons (they ought to decrease taxes AND spending - I know that theoretically government spending can kick start an economy but I have two problems with that: First, the implementation - there are ways to increase spending without benefiting any American industries or consumers and second, there are future costs to current spending if taxes aren't increased: either increased inflation or increased national debt)

Oh well 93.94% is still an A under all but the highest curves much less when the mean is 74% (I wish I could see their data set so I could calculate the standard deviation).

If you want to be really depressed, look at their table comparing the knowledge of elected officials compared to average Joe's .

Because now you know the answers and most likely will never forget them. Not to mention you are way ahead of the group we call elected officials which is something to cause concern; look at these results.

I have to give credit where credit is due. I had excellent history and social studies teachers in school. They kept it interesting enough that I would stay awake in their classes and nap during Biology!

30 out of 33, with several interuptions while I was reading, so I don't feel too bad.
