    Presidential Gatling Gun

This gatling gun equipped suburban is supposedly part of the presidential security detail. I think it is cooler then the new limo :-)

Wonder what scenario they envision for it? Rocket attacks? In most situations, anything like that would have large collateral damage.

Eh. Its role mirrors that of the M2... so just use the M2. Not like this thing will ever be sold within US borders anyhow.

The M2 doesn't fire 6000 rounds a minute,If you don't think they use them you need to watch a presidential motorcade they have like 3 of them,

This for the man who want all guns go bye bye.

I shudder to think of the collateral damage that thing will do.

The first time that thing gets deployed, no matter what country, the world is going to have a hissy, and there are going to be A LOT of job openings in the Secret Service for allowing the presidential motorcade to pass through an area that would justify the use of that.

Our military Humvee convoys moving through enemy territory where they will be in a position to be attacked by dozens (or more) of combatants aren't even equipped that well.

What does 6000 rounds per minute get you? As this weapon directly competes for the same role the M2 does, why on earth would you pick it over the M2 when mounted? Fun project, sure, but not the most useful thing in the world. If you can afford to feed it, you can afford to get the bigger and more proven gun.

That is one of the products of the folks at Dillon. I assume they have the funds to be able to shoot the thing when they want.

I would love to have a go at the thing for a day, as long as someone else was buying the ammo.
Just remember that shot placement is much more important with what you carry than how big a bang you get with each trigger pull.

Its not new, and Dylan's version is a proven system. Do some googling. They are a fantastic weapon.

As far as collateral damage, in an event that would require those being deployed, I think collateral damage is probably the least of the concerns as the threat posed would probably be of a nature that collateral damage will be inevitable.

Joel Rosenburg's book, the last Jihad, lays out a scenerio where an airplane is being used as a missle to take out the President. A weapon like that, which has anti-aircraft capabilities, would be a great asset.

And despite how I might feel about our President's politics, the last thing I want to see is a successful attack on him or his family. That would be catastrophic not only for our country, but could be for our constitutional rights as well.
I will support gun control when you can guarantee all guns are removed from this planet. That includes military and law enforcement. When you can accomplish that, then I will be the last person to lay down my gun. Then I will carry the weapon that replaces the gun.

This could've really come in handy in Season 5 of 24 with the Russian President!

    (or was it season 6?)
