Harajuku Snowbunny Baby Hoody ~ 3-24 Months - Baby Girl Clothing
Well, turns out the hoodies are for 3-24 month old kids. So I don't imagine there will be much of a jungle gym issue. Since this is a product for infants, it deserves closer scrutiny.
I'm not a lawyer or a LEO, just a pantload with a computer.
Although I think keeping young kids safe is a great cause, this is a little over the top. The Consumer Product Safety Commission should concentrate on more serious issues (infant car seats, lead toys, flat screen TV's that fall on kids...) I would leave this clothing issue to the clothing designers and manufactures (a few wrongful death lawsuits on their hands and the problem would correct itself).
Well I had to look this one up because it was unbelievable at face value.
Children's Hooded Sweatshirts Recalled by Jerry Leigh of California Due to Strangulation Hazard
Although I generally say this stuff is ridiculous, this one has some merit. It's baby/toddler clothing, and the "string" is more like a cotton "belt". It's not going to snap under their weight as they get drug by a car, fall off a jungle gym, etc.
I'd prefer parents just be cognizent of the danger and not buy such crap ($75!?)
