    Tie string in hoodie dangerous

Several hooded sweatshirts from Gwen Stefani's Harajuku Lovers children's clothing line have been recalled by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and not because they are killer fashion in the good way.

The commission charges that "the jackets have a drawstring through the hood which can pose a strangulation hazard to children," although no such incidents have been reported.
You gotta be kidding me,I grew up with hooded jackets and they all had a drawstring in them, are we really getting that dumb that we can't tell kids dont tie the string around your neck it will kill you
"Outside of the killings, Washington has one of the lowest crime rates in the country,"
--Mayor Marion Barry, Washington , DC .

I am speechless. I usually take the drawstring out of my hoodies, but it's not really for safety reasons...I just don't like dangling strings. If you somehow strangle yourself on your hoodie, you deserve to die anyway.

First lawn darts, real BB's, and now drawstrings in hoodies.

"They" really are trying to whip America's future by wussification. I have posted this before, but a story like this required me to post it again. If you have not heard of or had a chance to check out Brad Stine, I highly recommend him. Especially his show called "Wussification".

I think you can find him on YouTube too. He is hilarious but his jokes are real and they make me worried for our future.

    Humann evolution

Survival of the fittest has allowed mankind to evolve to the point we are now so if you can't protect yourself or your child from a string then maybe you need to stop and rethink the part you are playing in society.

Have you seen some of the people walking around today? That might be an even bigger safety hazard. I mean, just think about all the people gouging their own eyes out....

You took the words from my mouth. This is scary. Will we all be doomed to Velcro to tighten our shoes? Safety helmets for kids on the playground? Wait! Playgrounds will be illegal! Kids might get hurt! There might be the dreaded 'C' word-Competition! This would hurt the kids self esteem!

When was the last time you saw REAL monkey bars or a REAL merry go round? The way "they" talk and act these days I am surprised I am not dead or paralyzed already.

I have fallen out of more trees and jumped off of more roofs, and sun myself in to a vomiting rage on a merry go round more than I can even remember. Real lawn darts, monkey bars with exposed screws and hard dirt at the bottom (no wussy mulch padding), playing in the rock/dirt pile next to the back hoe at the local construction site, and on and on and on...

I know of at least 2 cases where children were killed on playground equipment when they jumped off and the string got caught.

I have to agree with Yoda, the strings on hoodies can be dangerous, even for adults. Anyone work with machinery? watch those strings!
