You gotta be kidding me,I grew up with hooded jackets and they all had a drawstring in them, are we really getting that dumb that we can't tell kids dont tie the string around your neck it will kill youSeveral hooded sweatshirts from Gwen Stefani's Harajuku Lovers children's clothing line have been recalled by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and not because they are killer fashion in the good way.
The commission charges that "the jackets have a drawstring through the hood which can pose a strangulation hazard to children," although no such incidents have been reported.
"Outside of the killings, Washington has one of the lowest crime rates in the country,"

the nanny state strikes again!!
I am speechless. I usually take the drawstring out of my hoodies, but it's not really for safety reasons...I just don't like dangling strings. If you somehow strangle yourself on your hoodie, you deserve to die anyway.
All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.
First lawn darts, real BB's, and now drawstrings in hoodies.
"They" really are trying to whip America's future by wussification. I have posted this before, but a story like this required me to post it again. If you have not heard of or had a chance to check out Brad Stine, I highly recommend him. Especially his show called "Wussification".
I think you can find him on YouTube too. He is hilarious but his jokes are real and they make me worried for our future.
Next will be lace up shoes. You know those laces are a tripping hazard.
Ahhhh hell.... let's just bubble wrap everything.... this way everyone will be safe!!
"Without fear there can be no Courage!"
Survival of the fittest has allowed mankind to evolve to the point we are now so if you can't protect yourself or your child from a string then maybe you need to stop and rethink the part you are playing in society.

"Sure, As long as the machines are workin' and you can call 911. But you take those things away, you throw people in the dark, and you scare the crap out of them; no more rules...You'll see how primitive they can get."
It's about the same logic used to ban .50 BMG rifles.
"and suddenly I can not hold back my sword hand's anger"
I have fallen out of more trees and jumped off of more roofs, and sun myself in to a vomiting rage on a merry go round more than I can even remember. Real lawn darts, monkey bars with exposed screws and hard dirt at the bottom (no wussy mulch padding), playing in the rock/dirt pile next to the back hoe at the local construction site, and on and on and on...
I know of at least 2 cases where children were killed on playground equipment when they jumped off and the string got caught.
Yoda, I am, yes.
I have to agree with Yoda, the strings on hoodies can be dangerous, even for adults. Anyone work with machinery? watch those strings!
