Setting off alarms
The other day I was comming out of WalMart and the security alarm went off . I was near two or three other people at the time so I just kept going . Then I went to Home Depot and on the way out the same thing happened, but no one else was around me . The cashier asked me to stop then they checked out my carriage and finally sending me through. I found out it was "me "making the alarm go off . She let me go saying it was probably my keys. But come to find out it wasn't my keys- My wife gave me a new wallet & sweater for my birthday & also I received a new credit card about the same time- now I'm trying to find out which of these items is setting off the alarms. PS - I also set the alarms off in Walmart again just the other day !! Does anyone have any suggestions ????

Could be the sweater, check for anti-theft tag.

Welcome to the forum.
Check for sew in tags or hidden in the wallet.

Have you checked inside the wallet for hidden compartments? Possibly a small alarm device inside. Some stores hide them inside small items that will fit in a pocket.

There was a thread a while back on some forum (possibly this one) mentioning sweaters from Old Navy being the culprits. They had sewn anti-theft RFID tags into a hem of the sweater.

Most likely it is the wallet.
The cashier who told you if might be your keys doesn't understand how those anti-shoplifting alarms work. They are not Metal Detectors, if they were, everyone would set them off as everyone has keys, change, a CCW gun, all other manner of metal on them. They work with a small anti theft device, usually hidden in or on a new item. Like I said, it is most likely the wallet.

Possibly a RF tag in the clothes or wallet.

I bought boots from K-mart and they kept setting off the alarms at Wal-Mart, pretty funny walking out past someone with a full cart....

That wouldn't surprise me, their jeans have the same tag sewn in th side seams. Ouch in the fitting rooms if it finds your skin.

More than likely the boots or sweater. Look in the sweater for the anti theft tag.

Or maybe the one that HK puts in their weapons! http://www.defensivecarry.com/vbulle...p-compact.html
I walked into a Walgreens the other day with same clothes I usually wear but set their system off for the first time, again when leaving. Weird.
