Can't a guy buy powdered eggs without mail order?

My usual 2 grocery stores don't carry it. I want some for the TEOTWAKI stockpile, and I remember actually liking the stuff when I was a kid (FOCUS HOPE stuff we always got).

Also wondering where I can get individual servings peanut butter and jelly locally, and how long they last. It seems that they should last at least a year...two would be better.

Just put a dozen eggs in the dryer for 4 hours.......

Any camping supply stores in your area? I think I've seen them in WalMart

Make sure you buy enough powdered water to go with the eggs.

Everyone IS a comedian today, huh?

MREs? I had to eat one once when I was in the military. We were roughing it that day...noone to bus the picnic tables for us or anything (Gotta love the USAF!). My family is picky enough, and they'd spend more energy hauling the MREs than they'd get eating them, because they wouldn't eat them. The contents would be wasted, except for the m&ms, the spoon, and toilet paper.

Sure, but I'm sure in a bad post apocalyptic scenario, you could trade them to those that were able to find powdered eggs.

If there is an REI store near you give them a try since they do carry freeze-dried foods.

Find an REI Store in MI

Only question is: Do I trade away the wife or kids first?

True...and I am actually a card-carrying member (OK, I lost the card so they always have to look me up by phone #). They might do for small quantities, but they'll be awful pricey for more than aw couple days' worth.

Are there any LDS (Mormon) suppliers in your area? Don't know? Ask at the nearest Mormon Temple.
Mormons are required to stock about a year's-worth of food at home, and I believe that much of it is freeze-dried. If anyone in your area would know where to buy powdered eggs, a Mormon would.

Seems to be a good price with reasonable shipping.

If you a serious about stocking a food supply I suggest this book

Amazon.com: Crisis Preparedness Handbook: A Complete Guide to Home Storage and Physical Survival: Jack A. Spigarelli: Books

And I would say eat what you store, if you read the book you will understand the plan. Buy a l;ittle extra each shopping trip to spread out the expense and build up your food stores

Also looks like a good book. I'm just getting started, starting with a 7 day portable stash for the 4 of us (and the dog). Once I get that done (fairly quickly) I want to increase to at least 60 days. That'll definitely take more time.

Cupcake they may be picky now but once you get hungry enough you will literally eat almost anything.

    Yup.

If you eat the MRE's you won't need the toilet paper. We always wished they would put Ex-Lax in the MRE's.
