    The Redneck Mafia. . . . .

. . . . must be ecstatic today, what with the Daytona 500 on. I don't get that so-called sport. Go fast, turn left, how hard can it be?

I took a driving class at Bondant Racing School in AZ and we did circles on the track and after 10 minutes you get a new respect for the real racecar drivers. Harder than you think.

I imagine it is, I was just poking fun. I occasionally will watch a race, but I own NO Nascar hats, clothes, etc.

I think its just one of those things you either "get" or "don't get."

Personally, I don't like Nascar and find it boring. While it certainly doesn't look hard, it actually requires a very high level of skill - right up there with F1, believe it or not.

Driving inches away from dozens of other cars breaking 200 MPH, no AC, massive power, a big engine at full tilt, no brake lights, and the fact that a single incident can mean death all mean that only the most qualified can even make it.

Quite a few F1 drivers seem to be going over to NASCAR lately... probably because of the money.

But yea, I don't like it, but I certainly respect the NASCAR drivers.

I don't really get it either, but I will probably watch a little of it until the UConn Women's Hoops game starts at 3:30. Nice having both the men and women #1, hopefully the men will stay there in tomorrow's game against Pitt after the loss of Dyson.

Same here. I find it boring and don't watch. But I'd love to drive in a Nascar race...

I think NASCAR needs to spice it up a bit. Maybe they could start racing on figure 8 tracks?

My brother-in-law is "in church" today... Daytona day... don't bother calling, the phone is turned off...

I don't get it either... until a car goes airborne and kills a half-dozen gitterduns in the stands in a giant fireball, it is only marginally more interesting than watching golf on TV...

    No AC????

I thought those cars were advanced. Even my car has air conditioning. A Bugatti has air conditioning and a cool stereo system. It would easily leave those pansy cars in the dust.

I'm watching the Sharks and the Devils.

It is just like all pro sports either you get it or you don't; I am in the later catagory regarding every pro sport. I will sometimes watch on TV but overall; I think most of them are overpaid, loud mouth disrespectful dirtbags. Nascar seems like they are the best of the group of pro sports people.

The only sport that I can actually sit and watch is Boxing.
Like most things NASCAR driving looks a lot easier than it is......I used to think that Golf was easy, until it took my 8 swings to tee off. I was looking for the ball, thinking that it must have exploded because I hit it so hard. It was right next to my foot....lol.
