Are you ready?
Many members here on this forum are not only prepared for an encounter with a BG but also for most other SHTF situations. I am one of those members. Today I did a function test on my back up generator, checked dates on the food in my large pantry, and shot the month old ammo from my EDC and spare mag and replaced it with new stuff. Remember it is not enough to buy all the gear, you must maintain it from time to time.
For those who were wondering my generator started on one pull. It is large enough to power the 2 sump pumps the 2 deep freezers 2 refrigerators ( I firmly believe 2 is 1 and 1 is none) and the furnace with enough juice left over to power one appliance (like a computer so I can log on DC
)
All the rounds went through With out a single malfunction
Only one outdated can of pork and beans.

If there is a really SHTF, the internet or phone/cable lines most likely will not be very reliable.
I would say that very few people are totally prepared for a true SHTF scenario.
I have enough ammo, enough fuel, 2 generators, a well for water if needed, food to last a while, and a place to go if it really gets bad.
Just remember that shot placement is much more important with what you carry than how big a bang you get with each trigger pull.

I've already got my seat picked out in Qwest field.
