Well, my tax return didn't happen

I got a letter ffrom the IRS, my entire tax return (which was going to pay my car off) was used to pay a debt I never even got a letter or phone call on. How lovely is that?

That's on top of the fact that I was just fired from my job, so now I get to job hunt, and instead of being able to afford a few nice things for myself down the road, I get to still pay on my car.

I don't think they can withhold money without a judgement

Three cases I can think of, but I'm no expert:

Are you in arrears on tax assessments, child support or student loan payments?

Sorry to hear the news! That's kinda like a lump of coal in a stocking.......

"He went on two legs, wore clothes and was a human being, but nevertheless he was in reality a wolf of the Steppes. He had learned a good deal . . . and was a fairly clever fellow. What he had not learned, however, was this: to find contentment in himself and his own life. The cause of this apparently was that at the bottom of his heart he knew all the time (or thought he knew) that he was in reality not a man, but a wolf of the Steppes."

Yes, do you happen to be a Master Sergeant with a GT score of 110 or higher?

Not a Master Sergent, don't know what my GT was, my AFQT was 80 though.

It wasn't for taxes, a student loan, and I have no kids.

Apparently, when I left the Navy, the checks for my groceries and other odds and ends for my last month were cancelled by NFCU, no idea why, since I had several thousand in my acccount, and I didn't close the account down till six months after my discharge.

Eh, Monday I get to call the Exchange Service and see what else I owe them, just more fun ahead.
