    John Adams (HBO Series)

Has anyone else watched this series? I'm currently making my way through it via Netflix and I have to say it's great. The founders were really wise far beyond their years. It's interesting to look at then and now and make comparisons, sad...but interesting.

Surely you jest. Can you name just one in elected office these days that even closely compares to our founding fathers?
    I can't think of one.

I did miss the series when it came out. I think I'll have to get it from Netflix also.

sorry, I see how that can be read wrong. I am referring to the trials of the time, such as where government does and doesn't belong, etc.

Sorry for the confusion, I don't think anyone could or ever will compare to those amazing people.

P.S. Netflix is GREAT...especially for series such as this

we're watching it also. We just saw the first, my wife who is in her mid-forties never heard of much of the information. It shows just how poor our educational system is.
I'm going to purchase it for our library so when the grandkids are old enough we'll watch it.

My wife bought this for me last Father's day. I really enjoyed this series as the performances were outstanding. I have to agree that my wife did not know a lot of the information contained in the series.

The problem with the education system is that students are taught to test on certain information only, this wasn't covered.

We could only wish that any of our elected officials had half the intelligence of our founding fathers.
