I'm embarressed to say this but I had no idea that snakes had teeth. Fangs yes, teeth no.

You learn something new everyday :).

And, there are more than one out there, that's for sure, not with multiple sheep within weeks.

That looks like daddy, where's momma and the kids?

Did you also notice how they are angled toward the back of the mouth? That keeps things from getting away once they've been "latched" on to. Darn sneaky, these reptiles.

    Rick,

    I didn't know that either. Thanks :).

I will respect snakes alot more now. I don't really like them but I wasn't afraid to just pick them up but know I will be more careful.

All snakes are predators, and have teeth. Even the little garter snakes in your yard :) Them thar teeth would do some _major_ damage.

There's really nothing in the frame to estimate size from, but I'd have to guess that guy's around 15 feet, perhaps 120lbs. A burmese python can get 20 feet, and weigh in well over 200lbs. This looks like the teenager of the family to me :)

In this species, as well as most other reptiles, 'mama' is normally much larger than 'daddy' is. Babies are over a foot long the day they hatch :)
Liberty is an inherently offensive lifestyle. Living in a free society guarantees that each one of us will see our most cherished principles and beliefs questioned and in some cases mocked. It's worth it.

Thanks, Rick, for explaining about the teeth! Now, even in my nightmares, I won't be able to get loose from that monster!

The good news is most of our domestic snakes don't have teeth that bad. Our common snakes usually have smaller triangular teeth.

Of course I can remember as a kid making the mistake of getting bit by a common water snake, I pulled back out of reflex, and half it's teeth stayed with me....... I was picking teeth out of my hand for months!!

I sure wish I had one of them in my pasture, it would keep all the teenagers from trespassing looking for mushrooms. By the way I like snakes, they are blessed by the Goddesss. All Snakes on my property are protected from people; The Cats however are free to catch whatever they will eat.
