New ladder system...Little Giant RevolutionXE
After watching the product rep demonstrate this ladder at my local home show I had to have one.
I bought the Little Giant Ladder RevolutionXE Model 22. This thing extends to a full 18 feet and the rep sold me the ladder, standoff, two work platforms, tool tray, leveler leg for $500 even (and that included shipping).
It arrived Friday and this thing is built like a tank. I can't wait to get up and paint my trim next week. I can finally get rid of those crappy wood ladders and flimsy aluminum ones that clutter up my garage and back fence.

The X2 series are made out of recently declassified aluminum alloy. It is insanely light, especially when you consider it is rated for 300+ pounds per side in the "A" configuration and 300+ in the extension configuration. .

What is "recently declassified"?

Little giants are great ladders, we actually carry them on our firetrucks.

I was told it is an alloy that can be formed under pressure (bent) without compromising the structural integrity of the material.
They said it was used on military aircraft and only recently available to the consumer market.

Marketing bull. There is no "material" that is classified or limited to any certain market. But they (Little Giant) generally do make a pretty hefty product.

I had one back when I was working in the electrical service field. It was handy, but the knuckles would jam up every now and again.

While Little Giant makes a good ladder, they are overpriced.
