Today's gun shop (local observations)
Well, got off work early enough today to run by my local gun shop. I'm boycotting ammo buying by the way....(I'll quit shooting before I pay $23 for a generic brand box of 50ct 230gr 45acp hardball), but I just had to see what was new and what was highway robbery. I did buy another good ammo can for storage at $5. Anyway.....my local gun shop Ozark Armory II, seems to have turned into a place for a nice family outing. The clerks were airing up balloons to give to the kids which seemed to be equal to the amount of adults in the store. One father and son were eyeballing some pistols in the case, and the father told the boy that this and that, and that one only holds six shots, and all that stuff. Husbands and wives apparently browsed together and the women actually seemed to be taking some interest to my surprise. The shotgun rack appeared to be getting a lot of attention, and some folks that were handling the guns appeared enthralled and the odor they gave off told me it was their first time touching something like cold steel. It simply amazes me sometimes how things change, and how predictable our human counterparts are when outside influences affect them when in the past raised such little attention or even a second thought. What is this invisible, odorless, tasteless, and awesome power that overcomes past inhibitions?
