    Goin to the Bluegrass state

I'm headin down on the other side of the river tomorrow to visit a friend of mine down there, so I have a question for you Kentuckians. Are there any quirky laws that have been passed recently I need to know about? I checked handgunlaw.us and didn't see anything new, so I should be good to go I think. (I've been across the river carrying before, but that was last summer last time I had leave.) Any input is appreciated, even though I know us Yanks are supposed to stay up here.

Nothing new that I'm aware of. Be sure to bring your own ammo, cause we don't have any left here !!!!!

We are a proud gold carry state. To the best of my knowledge, common sense and general CCW laws should get you by just fine.

I'll be packin my own ammo, trip should be over in one day but will take a fair amount of it. I've never had a problem down there before, and common sense does seem to prevail. IIRC, Kentuckians can have a pistol in their glovebox without a permit.

Any issues in the Lexington area (gotta drive through there)?

    Thanks for the responses.

I'm in the Lexington area, in fact I'm a UK student and a engineer at Toyota in Georgetown. You can keep a pistol in your glovebox with a permit, so no that is not an issue. Carrying shouldn't be a problem in lexington as long as your not open carrying on campus. Your only problem may come if you park on campus. Even then if you do and even if your car is searched for some random reason you couldn't be prosecuted for breaking any laws as the univeristy has no power over you or power to enforce their policy's upon you.

Good stuff, thanks Datsun. I'm actually going down to London, and should have my weapon on my hip the whole time.

I kinda prefer driving with my boots on, and it could be a bit chilly goin round barefoot. (As an aside since this is my thread: Those Redlegs didn't look too hot today.)
