That was close!! Oklahoma is burning....

Haven't heard yet but usually when we have them it's a cigarette butt thrown out the window. They have shut down sqaure mile sections where the most destruction happened. about twenty-five homes burned to my SW. I live in Choctaw one of the hardest hit. Choctaw is about 20 miles by 20 miles and we are about 15 miles East of Oklahoma City. I've heard reports that the High School football field was burned and maybe some field houses. The police wouldn't let use do any surveying of the area tonight, we should be able to tomorrow. I'm a builder and some of the houses I built burned, I'm going over that way tommorrow to see if anyone needs my assistance/clean-up. They have shut down the school district until further notice.

Yeah I heard about that on the news tonight. I heard it was started by to farmers trying to control burn a few acres but the wind picked up and blew it all out of control. The farmers tried to escape by truck but fire caught so fast that one of the farmers was killed and the second was severely burned but made it out. I don't think there has been any other injuries/ loss of life reported but there sure had been a lot of property damage.

Be careful and stay as safe as you can!!

Night before last I kept smelling smoke. Thought maybe the US Forstry was doing some burning to the south of us. No reports of forestry doing controled burns, but heard abt the fires 200 miles away..I wonder if thats what we were smelling over here.

I just saw that on the news this morning. They showed some video. Hit some towns in Texas too. The only one I recall was Sunset, Texas. They showed several burnt houses. They also said a bad tornado hit Oklahoma too. Hope y'all stay safe and wishing y'all the best!
