I still remember the "Aunt Bea's Pickles" episode. Rest in Peace, Barney Fife.
yep....he was a good'un...as an actor and human being.
RIP Barney...![]()
IMO the best TV show ever (Andy Griffith Show)
Knotts was a wonderful actor and his Barney character was superb.
He will be missed.

We can all learn a very valuable carry lesson from Barney Fife & just carry our handguns completely unloaded but, DO make sure you keep that one bullet in your pocket just in case of emergencies.
R.I.P. Barney
May You Go To Mayberry In The Sky.
A kind and gentle man who made generations of children and adults laugh is not a common thing. We have lost something that cannot be replaced.
Don Knotts will always be Scooby Doo's #1 special guest star in my book.
Just glad we had Barney anyways - highly memorable and Knotts will be well remembered by a great many. RIP.

I heard that on the news, kind of sad, I always liked his characters. I hope when they bury him they do it with his bullet in his pocket.
RIP Barney!

I can just hear Barney telling an angel that was flying too fast "Nip it! Nip it in the BUD!"![]()

Sad to hear that, he was a great actor.
The "one bullet" would be a cool touch.
I saw the headline on Yahoo before coming here and when I told my wife the first thing she did was say "Don Knots?" in that Scooby Doo voice. lolOriginally Posted by Euclidean

In most situations on the job, I ask myself, "What would Andy do?" Most of the time the results are more similar to what Barney would have done.
My favorite Knotts performance was in No Time for Sergeants.
Sad news.
My children will be sad too, when they hear the news.
God bless you Barney!
It’s so much easier now days, to "Love and honor" my wife, when she is armed, and shoots a better group than I do. (Till death do us part, eh?)
“The way you get shot by a concealed weapons permit holder is, you point a gun at him,” the Sheriff said.
