Post Where Exactly IS That COM Stuff

We are totally amazing living, breathing machines.
It's incredibly sad to me as an artist (to ponder) what might some day be necessary...in order to grind that human machine to a quick halt.
In order to stop the machine you should know exactly where the critical cog is located.

That's another likely dreadfully painful location.

I got kicked there once & (in betwwen the yelling) it stopped me Pretty Damn Quick.

Back in days when medical studies were goin on QK - I had reason to use several pathology books - within which were some pretty enlightening pics!

What was shown was - partly as you say - the human bod' is a very remarkable machine. It also tho showed what a mess projectiles can make!

There is actually very little in the ''COM Dept'' which will flick major switches fast, tho damage is often enough without intervention to lead to death. As we know, even heart/aorta shots can leave enough oxygenated blood in the brain to permit several seconds of nastiness!

IMO upper thoracic is more likely to be effective faster - certainly when compared to abdominal. Thinking however as a potential recipient - no thanks to any

Well sorta! But vertebral column is the support structure for the torso, and head - so covers a fair length. It is central in a long axis sense tho yeah.

True COM established by mass balance is probably below stomach. I reckon really we say "COM'' meaning in essence largest target zone to guarantee hits.

Should a bullet reach the spine then that will be very disabling - per pro paralysis but everything above will still work, meaning probably BG's hands and so, his gun!

I've always considered and seen COM referred to as the spot at the base of the sternum... it is the sternum right?

It always made sense to me. If you hit with 12" of it you're going to FUBAR something in there.

I was reading something recently that said that COM should really be the triangle formed by your nipples and neck/throat. That this area has the highest probability of causing quick incapacitation.

    Stermum yep.

The lil' bit at base is the ''Xyphisternum'' - and that is probably about over lower stomach. True enough - any impacts in let's say an 18" wide or 24" high total zone sure is gonna cause problems!

    Worthwhile Addition Chris

Actually a true COM 4.5" circle will likely miss the pumper.

Damn...I'm pretty sure that I had a "Semi~Transparent overlay of a "Man Target" on top of a same sized Anatomical.
It's "locked" in my old 'puter & I can't get to it right now.

Yep, Bud...naturally if you can blow right on through dead center to the spine then that sure is going to stall the engine.
That 500 of yours would punch a vertebrae right out of there.

QK, I guess I didn't realize how much of the upper torso is actually just lungs...could take a while for a hopped up assailant to "drown".

Looks like the Adams apple area would have the most devastating effect for stoppage.
