Citizenship by birth?
Someone I was talking with told me that at many off U.S. military bases the (U.S.) child is given duel citizenship for that country and ours. Is this true or is it an American thing? Can't seem to find reliable info On this subject. Any overseas military parents want to answer this one?

it's true.
the reverse is also true. If say a German pilot is stationed here and his wife has a baby, that baby was born in the US of A and is a US Citizen and a Citizen of Germany.

Children of US parents are required at age 18 to declare US citizenship, or declare for the other country... however, many other countries don't revoke the dual citizenship based on this declaration.
The US however requires that the declaration be made.
