Patriot Guard Riders
I've recently joined up with the local Patriot Guard Riders, and I wholeheartedly agree with and support their mission.
The PGR is comprised mostly of bikers, many of whom are Veterans themselves, and good people who still believe in America and for what she stands for.
It seems there is a group out there that in it's political manipulations and opposition to the war(s) and some warped and twisted "belief-system" thinks it is perfectly OK to protest and ruin a fallen hero's funeral and interfere.
The PGR basically doesn't allow that to happen. There is usually a HUGE motorcade of bikes, vehicles, and support vehicles escorting the procession, and a number of PGR members standing in honor and respect of the fallen with flags held.
Luckilly, I haven't had to attend a run yet...but I think I'm ready when called upon...but I'll be damned if somebody wants to tarnish the memory of one of our fallen and disrespect their families...that I won't tolerate...
This song was done by a PGR member who recorded this as a demo single, and it's phenominal....the words hit home for me...I've seen my friends die in the name of freedom, I've seen the faces of the wives, children, parents of those fallen...it's never easy.

Thank you for your service to our nation and to the families of our heroes.

I signed up for the PG..I found that I can not attend missions as it interferes with my vision afterwards. This is a good cause tho.

I've been on dozens of Patriot Guard missions. It is one of the most moving experiences you can imagine. I've taken both my daughters on the bike to a couple of funerals, and they were almost overwhelmed with emotion, especially a young KIA near their own age.
Treat me good, I'll treat you better. Treat me bad, I'll treat you worse.

What sort of people can violate the sanctity of a funeral and disturb those final moments when a grief stricken family is laying a beloved family member to final rest?
They can do that to make a political statement?
That sort of person has no human decency or compassion and they are the lowest of the low.

My wife and I are both Patriot Guard, as is my Brother in law in Florida. Nice to know we have a few here as well.

I guess I'm so passionate about it as I would have wanted my wife and family protected and shielded if something were to happen to me when I was on Active Duty.
Standing for those who stood for us is one of their phrases....it's the right thing to do for the right reason.
I honestly don't know what I would do if any of those protesting pukes were present at a military funeral....

Somehow, these people think that protesting at the funeral of a soldier slain in the war is appropriate. Personally, I think that a snap kick to the crotch of those protesters is a good way to protest.
SSgt, and others in the PGR, thank you. These men deserve to be honored, and their families thanked and comforted. Keeping these morons away from the funerals is a wonderful service to our country.

The really sad part is that the idiots disrupting the funeral never stop to think that the reason they can do things like that is because someone like the deceased gave their life for that freedom.

There is something quite satisfying about turning your back on the miserable vomitus mass that protests at funerals. We're denying them the attention they crave.

My neighbor is a PGR and if I had a motorcycle I would be too.
Thank you for all that you do to preserve the dignity of those fallen in battle and the dignity of their families.
