We know the economy is slow when...

I walk into my favorite gunshop and find a Franchi AL48 20ga I've been after on the used rack; and I had to walk away from it. Its a sad day, but the gunfund is a little light these days. These guns are tough to find new, and used at a good price? Impossible. Oh well. It could be worse.

BTW, my wife is proud. She thinks I actually grew up.

    Times are tough.

I would just sneak back in later and put it on my charge card

That REALLY took some restraint, Sixto.

Don't worry, we'll keep your secret! We wouldn't dream of telling her it's just an act your putting on.

Ouch. Grew up, or threw up?!

That never worked for me. My husband would always go over them with a fine-toothed comb, and then come find me.....

    SIXTO,

I feel ya, I'm pulling my retirement packet from the army. I have another year that I can be in before mandatory retirement (unless I get promoted).

Another year of garuanteed pay is better then no job prospects. I had 4 job offers and they are now gone. Three companies are reorganizing and down sizing (I was set to make about 200,000 with one company). The other company has an age restriction, no hires over 40.

I can afford the gun, but I need to learn that just because I want something and have the money, that doesn't mean I should buy it.

Besides, I need a lawn mower, Lima needs new glasses and I'm still building the reloading setup.

Don't get me wrong, I'm fine financially. I have a secure job as does my wife. Discretionary income is just a little tight.

I can buy the gun, but like JD, there is a huge list of other junk that needs done/bought first.

Turn the election's in 2014 to a "2A Revolution". It will serve as a 1994 refresher not to "infringe" on our Second Amendment. We know who they are now.........SEND 'EM HOME. Our success in this will be proportional to how hard we work to make it happen.

Yep. I know how you feel. I just had to fork over about $400 to the wife for curtains, paint and an above the stove microwave. I coulda bought something nice for $400 bucks.

I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
