Exclamation My School is in CODE RED LOCKDOWN

I have no idea why. This is a RARE event and reserved for EXTREME situations. I've got a locked door and a bunch of students that were simply herded in here because my door was closest. Nobody will say what's going on. Haven't heard any gunfire. There's no emergency escape from this room. I hope nobody tries to get in here with evil intent, it'll be a one on one event. Maybe I can simply ERASE 'em! I'll keep you informed.

Okay, code red lifted. There seem to be more cops on campus, but otherwise all is well.

Teacher observations are filtering in that it was a fight (constant event) that happened to involve a weapon (which is more rare).

Looks as if some kid brought an explosive device to school. Now that makes a lot of sense, huh? Everybody get into a room and wait for the building to explode! DUH. But it was either a fake or was poorly constructed. Another day of joy in the inner city.

Yea! I know that's what I used to teach folks when I was teaching explosive/counter-terrorist defense! (Remember, the sarcasm IS free!)

Makes for a tough teaching and learning environment. Too bad. The kids you work with probably need it a lot.

    Be careful.

The worst part is they don't bother to tell the staff what's going on when this stuff happens.

I remember once we had a fire drill... that lasted three hours. Yep, bomb threat.

During the first gulf war, there was a bomb threat called into my high school. We were first herded into the gymnasium for around a half an hour, then herded again to the front of the school for 10min, finally we were boarded in school busses for 45min. When the threat was dismissed, we went back into the school. I noticed that my locker was searched.
