The movie Taken
Great movie. Basically a rehashed Commando (Schwarzenegger). The guy is very focused on getting his daughter back. He takes no prisoners and negotiations go like this:
BG (holding daughter at knife point): We can n...
GG: Bang. (Bullet between BG's eyes)
No mamby pamby feel good "why can't we all get along" c
p. Dead BGs every where. Wish we had more of these types administering justice in the world.

Good movie, but i thought Leam Neeson was a little old for the role he played.

I found it refreshing, in the way Death Wish was to me.
I know not what this "overkill" means.
Honing the knives, Cleaning the longguns, Stocking up ammo.

He WAS retired.....
I enjoyed it very much, he didn't have to rack one in the chamber, like all the movies do. That is always funny to me.

I thought it was a great movie. I thought he was the perfect choice to play the single minded deliverer of vengeance. Some parts were total fake but still not bad.

Don't mess with us "old guys". We might just kill you because we can!

I really would not mess with retired Navy seals even if they are old. I like the knife, fighting Silat scenes and the use of the karambit... it was some good, violent action of the non-flashy kind - just down and dirty.
it saddened me though that white slavery in Europe is so prevalent. They may not do it to some naive, young American girls but they do it to a lot of Eastern European/Russian girls.

Here's the thing about that last scene:
Would YOU have taken that shot, with a gun you had just picked up and never fired yourself, if it was YOUR daughter mere inches away from your intended point of impact?

For the Most part I enjoyed the movie very much but there were some scenes I thought were stupid and could have done without. The chase scene at the construction site for one it was pointless and he all of a sudden couldn't shoot for S**T.Also the scene when he is chained to the pipe was contrived so he could make is big escape. They could not just shoot him because it would make to much noise yet when he breaks free he shoots the place up and no one notices.
I thought it was a lite version of Man on Fire with Denzell Washington
