    The Hurt Locker

You have to make the shot when fire is smoking, people are screaming, dogs are barking, kids are crying and sirens are coming.

It has potential. But, I'll probably wait until it's either out on DVD, or rvrn on HBO. I only go out for a few movies a year.

You have to volunteer, then get through a very tough school!

The movie got decent reviews from the press, not so great reviews from the EOD field.

I haven't seen it yet, but I will eventually, meanwhile if you want to watch something about EOD that is generally respected by the field, try "Danger UXB"!

It does for me, I lost a great friend who was in EOD in Afghanistan. I'll have to watch this one for sure.

I think that's the miniseries I saw on public TV ages ago. WWII through present day, set in London?

Looks decent, however I didn't see anything in there that really looked like Iraq to me as far as scenery. My hat is off to the EOD guys, they do a great job (once they finally show up), I find bombs and back up, and they go in towards them, that takes guts.

Looks wild. Time call's it a near-perfect movie.

Just British EOD during WWII. Does a good job of trying to tell what they went through though.

You have to remember, there just isn't that many of us. And actually I think there are more EOD techs now then there were when I retired! Army EOD used t be 10 man Detachments, now they are Companies

I know that, and really I am grateful to them, and the combat engineers, they do what they do so I don't have to figure out how to disarm an IED, but a 4-6 hour wait gets a bit tedious sometime (tedious is preferable to not bringing my whole squad home.)

But anyone who has earned that bomb with the lightning bolts definitely has earned my respect for life.
