Reminds me of a real shoot the snake story. My son's dad in-law has two entirely undisciplined small dogs. He was heading out of the house with one little monster (I mean darlings) in each arm when suddenly, per his wife, he THREW both dogs back into the house and she heard blam blam blam etc. blam from his Glock 27.
Apparently as he stepped out the door he spotted a snake crawling up a retaining wall off his patio.
I don't know what kind of snake it was but they do have rattlers where he lives.
