"One Second After". I am almost finished with it. My thoughts after reading it is to load up on MREs, water and ammo. Buy a vehicle with points and a carburetor. Very eye opening book.

Still got faith in the government to do the right thing? When that goes,(and it is going rapidly)...then it will hit the fan.

    You ain't seen nothin yet...

Here's a thought: read the Bible. It's is more clear than many believe about the end of human history. Good news, there is still time for the ultimate preparation--giving one's heart and life to Jesus and in return you get peace that this world can't give. Bad news, society is heading for greater deteriation, so we can't just "buy the world a Coke," and suddenly all get along.

We are definitely on the wrong path as a nation, but the sad thing is most people don't realize it. They are running full-speed, headlong in exactly the wrong direction.

Back to the OT, my wife and I were discussing today the huge increase in crime reported locally. Several bank robberies, motel/convenience store hold-ups, domestic violence, break-ins, you name it. I told her the news was re-affirming my intention to carry wherever legal (and not prohibited by employer rules).

There is still hope for America, but I don't know how bad it will have to get for Americans to accept the real solution. "Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD."

    Stay safe,

    Darren

I really don't know what to think anymore. Europe always had high unemployment. A lot more than the US, 10% unemployment is considered good for Europe.

I don't think there is really anyplace to run/hide. People with land, the ones who don't have land will try and take it from you. Remember, they have guns too. And our society moral compass is nowhere near of what it was in the 1930's

Its funny (In the ironic sense not the haha sense) about 6 months ago when a friend found out I was starting to carry regularly he asked me why. I told him that with the economy and the country going down the crapper I felt it prudent to get a little life insurance. He said to me "its not like anything really bad would happen up here." I had to explain to him it only takes one desperate person to have something "really bad" happen.

I am convinced that unemployment will reach dangerously high levels. It's obvious the stimulus package was a lie in that it will create jobs. Tax cuts do. It's obvious Cap & Trade will cripple and I repeat cripple the US economy. Therefore when times get tough so too will people become desperate. I have to admit the 4th of July had so much significance yesterday. Never before has our Constitution and Freedoms been on the line. We as Americans need to call our Bone Head politicians and tell them No to these Socialist policies!

    ErikGr7:

I noticed that you listed Norway as your location. I am curious about your perspectives about all the economic and social unrest rumblings. Are you a citizen of Norway, or an American working/living abroad? What do you see going on in an economic/social/political sense over there in Norway?? Inquiring minds want to know
